The day before Thanksgiving break ideas for draft.
  1. Awards
  2. Booklets
  3. Thanksgiving play
  4. True Blue lunch
Draft: The day before thanksgiving break had many fun activities to talk about. Awards came first in the day. finding out who was top dog was fun. The next activity was making thanksgiving booklets. The purpose was to, write down what we are thankful for. This activity expressed our emotions about thankfulness. After that we had a mini thanksgiving play which, was about the history of thanksgiving. I played one important character whose name I forgot. After that,  we had true blue lunch. This is where you get to have an outdoor lunch, only if you don’t get a minor during that six weeks. that day was fun. I hope that the rest of 4th grade will be as exciting as that day.  * The published piece is the one which you should read. The draft is just an example to you on how I started this!*
Published piece: Many splendid activities happened before Thanksgiving break started. The very first thing that happened was, making Thanksgiving booklets. The purpose to make these were for, us to write down what we were thankful for. We stopped right before the parents came in for our Awards ceremony. Certificate after certificate, the ceremony was over. Before lunch came, my teacher suggested that we make a class play about Thanksgiving. 4 kids were speakers, 5-6 were important characters including myself, and the rest of the girls were pilgrims while the boys were Native Americans. Just after we practiced a second time, it was time for lunch. At the end of every six weeks, we have true blue recess. This is where we eat lunch outside and have  extra recess time. I had ordered a lunch from the cafeteria, and my trash went flying as I ate. Who knew such a small breeze could do that?! After I was finished, I played with my best friend, Advaita. We played the game, Don’t touch the ground,” until recess was over. We headed back to class where we continued practicing the play, until the bell rang to go home.b That day was very exciting and I hope that the rest of he school year is the same. Maybe next year, the same will happen except, it will be different.
The little sun was born on a hot sunny day. She was told about a sunset and waited for her first one. The time came until, she found out that she could not set! She had tried 1 million and 2 times. Centuries, decades, years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds went by but still could not! She was the newest sun which could not set! “ Would I ever set?!” She pondered continuously. Her starry bright family told her not to give up on setting.  The little star tried and tried until she lost hope. One day, she met a friend who gave her advice on how to set. This friend was different and had seen many sun set. She told the sun about a legend of a kind star who could help. The sun told her parents, who believed this was the best option for their daughter. The sun set out to find this legendary star. She found the secret layer up in the Himalaya mountains. She stepped up the stones and saw a vision gleaming in front of her. The legendary star asked why the little one was here. The sun replied only to see the vision disappear. Thinking that she came here for nothing, the gates emerged open to a very surprised sun. The sun walked into the legendary star’s home. Together they talked about the sun’s problem while sipping Moon star tea. The little sun found out that she had a disease that was caused of star dust and black hole dust.  The legendary star had a cure and told the sun to drink it. They both stepped outside, into the lonely world waiting for their sun. The sun started to complain that she did not set until, she felt as she was melting. She actually was setting! What a glorious moment that was! She knew that she was able to set from that forward on. Being the next generation of her family and being able to set, were the the 2 things which made her happy.
It all started when my awesome 4th grade teacher, Ms. Van, told us how each class was doing a project, on a different Chris Van Allsburg book. This made me sit up higher in my chair.  I started pondering on ideas. She told us that we were going to choose an icon and do a video or anything listed on that particular icon. She also told us that we would be doing this with our table groups. I was so excited to start this project, I nearly jumped off my seat! As we got together, me and my group questioned which one we could do. I reviewed the paper and rested my eyes on “ Unanswered Questions” reading the info below. I remembered something from GATES that hit my brain as I read. I explained my idea to my group quickly as they were still deciding what to do. My fellow GATES partner and best friend, Sofia Kawosa, remarked on how my idea would be perfect for the project. My idea was simple. We create a pretend interview about an unanswered questions show with, 2 clients, 1 director, 1 assistant director, 1 asker and 1 assistant asker. We all eventually started arguing on who was the asker. Luckily, I always come prepared to school! I had an empty container which held everyones number. Our teacher picked 2 numbers. The first to be the asker and the second to be the assistant.  Turns out, I was the asker and my BFF Sofia, was my assistant.  I jotted some quick notes down in my mini notebook and helped with the unanswered questions. Everything was set except that we KEPT MESSING UP!!!!! Sam, our director, kept his cool during each mistake and  I thank him for that. Henry, our assistant director, did an awesomee job when Sam was sick. Sofia, helped  me through the video and was an amazing friend. Riley and Sophia T., were amazing clients who had amazing questions. Finally, after about 20 scenes, we made an awesome video that was perfect. I would like to really thank all my table mates who helped me through this! Tough we all got upset at each other, we did a pretty amazing job! Oh! Let me tell you my flash back form GATES I had! We were asked to make a video, poster or anything about our personality. A group of oranges, a color personality,  did an interview, like we did, and I though that it was a brilliant and fun idea to make one. This idea sparked my Gates and table mate friends, to agree with the idea. This interview was because that orange group, and I would like to thank them as well for the inspiration!
